The designer and builder of the Great Pyramid at Giza was Thoth. Thoth's mission has been, and continues to be, the protection and safe-keeping of knowledge and wisdom for the benefit of humanity. Thoth is purported to have returned as Hermes, his name in ancient Greek times. The Latin name for Hermes, from Roman times, is Mercury. His reputed returns to physical life might have given rise to the name Hermes Trismegistus. Tris means three, thrice. Megistus has the same root as the word majesty. In this case, the "three-fold majesty of Hermes" may describe his superior skills and powers, his "majesty on earth," if you will. Trismegistus, the "three-fold nature of his majesty," might also describe his appearance in three successive eras of history: as Thoth in the ancient Egyptian era, as Hermes in the ancient Greek era, and as Mercury in the Roman era.
In Spanish, faro means light. Faro, the Pharos, the pharaohs of Egypt, all the same word. The "light of the pharaohs" is a phrase used to describe this movement. You could say that the torch-bearers have been working hard to keep the flame lit.
Apparently, the Druids left Egypt to establish a beacon of light in England. England then produced, as one of its children, the United States, and of course Canada and Australia and other countries. In addition, Moses also left Egypt. Moses, or so I have read, was actually Ramses (Ramoses), which has come down to us as the name Ramos. Rama.
The Great Seal of the United States is visible in modified form on the back of the one-dollar bill. Here is the essence of the modification: the original Seal did not portray an eagle, it portrayed a phoenix. Does anyone really know how to draw a phoenix, a mythical bird? That's why Benjamin Franklin, upon first seeing the Seal, thought the bird was a turkey (Manly P. Hall, The Secret Destiny of America, chapter 18). The light of Egypt, the wisdom and knowledge of ancient Egypt, is depicted on the Great Seal.
Many of the founders of the United States are rumored to have been members of secret societies and fraternities, and these rumors are probably true. The Masons were very active in the United States, and also in Europe, especially France. These Masons from different countries had meetings, socialized together, and influenced each other. They also recruited members into their ranks. Their associations between the U.S. and France undoubtedly contributed to the French Revolution 15 years after the American Revolution, seen symbolically as the French flag also took the colors red, white and blue. The Statue of Liberty in New York harbor, built by Gustav Eiffel of Eiffel Tower fame, is a gift from the French people to the American people as a symbol of solidarity, brotherhood, and sisterhood in an era of dictatorships and slavery. The official name of the Statue of Liberty is "Liberty Enlightening the World." The Statue of Liberty has a symbolic precedent: the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Colossus of Rodos and the Statue of Liberty were both positioned in a harbor; however, despite the common explanation that they had a practical function, ostensibly to guide ships, these statues are not maritime navigational aids. Sure, they would make great landmarks for ship captains and, nowadays, airline pilots. Their primary purpose, however, is artistic and symbolic. Both statues depict a light to guide the world, a guiding light for humanity. As such, they are in the same family as the image on top of the pyramid on the Great Seal of the United States.
Every 4 years, to start the Olympics, a torch-bearer lights a torch at the Temple of Hera, the Heraion or Heraeum, in Olympia, Greece. This ancient temple complex also has a companion temple to the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Zeus. It is unknown exactly how old this temple site is, but it is very ancient. To give you an idea of just how much antiquity we are talking about here (there's that word), Hera/Here is married to Zeus. The origin of the name of Zeus is the same as the origin of the words Deus, Dios, Theo, the the- in theology and theosophy, and possibly even the word the, which is the most common word in the English language and has been used 8 times in this sentence alone. The origin of the name of Zeus might also be identical to the origin of the word Zeit, the German word for "time."
Hera is also written as Here, and is likely the source of the English word here, and very likely the word her. That information is for context: Hera is not just some obscure lesser-known goddess (who cares) from the distant and dusty archives of history. Hera is Mother Earth herself, Mother Nature herself, the feminine principle which dominates our World, because our World is at its core Feminine. True, Hera is a strict and harsh mistress, a tough and exacting Queen, but Hera is most definitely a “she.” Hera is the original her, the original she, and when we are in our human bodies as we are right now, we are in her domain, we are here.
Hera is the same as Thera. Thera is more commonly written as Terra, the name many languages give to Planet Earth, Mother Earth. Our language is littered with references to Thera / Hera. Water, sister, later, after, center, mister, chapter are just some of the words which have Mother Earth’s, Hera’s, Terra’s name incorporated into them.
In fact, the essence of physical substance itself is named after Thera / Hera: MATTER.
Back to Hera’s temple, the source of the start of the Olympics.
The first Olympic torch lights another torch, born by a second torch-bearer. In this way, passed from one relay member to another, one torch-bearer to another, the light travels around the world, ending finally at the opening ceremony to the newest Olympic games.
This ritual of the passing of the torch, one torch lighting the next torch and then the next and the next, is a profound symbol of the passing of light, wisdom and knowledge from one person to the next, traveling around the world.
Imagine the civilizations of the world like a relay chain of Olympic torch-bearers.
Some civilizations are like mothers who bear children. They are the seeds for new civilizations. Egypt was the mother of many civilizations around the world, including of course the ancient Greek civilization. Not commonly known, the Egyptian civilization was also the mother of the Renaissance in Europe (Freke and Gandy, The Hermetica, pp. xx-xxii), again supplying a torch from one era of human history to the next. The torch that helped to light the Renaissance, by the way, ending up helping to lift Europe out of the Middle Ages, also commonly called the Dark Ages, whose legacy does not include many lovely relics in the struggle for human rights. The generations of human civilization, and the many offshoots of civilizations around the world throughout history, are descended from an ancient world civilization, or civilizations (there may have been several in a row), that now remain with us only as ancient myths.
