On my way to sleep I am writing. On waking up I am writing. This is a whole new normal for me. Having an audience in this publishing house seems to keep me permanently plugged in to the muse.
I am happy all the time.
August 22, 2020, is a red letter day: my first day going public, my first day of publication. Before August 22, access to the muse was erratic. Some days I was plugged in, most days not. Access was hit or miss, usually miss.
Welcome to my publishing house. Yes, my house. You might as well be in my living room, the room in the house where we entertain guests. You are in my sanctuary, my oasis, hence the signage you see hanging on my mailbox and on my front door:
Life: A Field Manual
an operating manual, a sanctuary, an oasis
Housekeeping
Since you’re a guest in my house, let’s cover housekeeping.
Once you subscribe, you receive an email whenever a brand new article is posted. To prevent an excess of posts bombarding you, Substack only sends you the original post. To see a revised article with corrections and improvements, you have to access Roland's Publishing House and select that article.
Substack is only 3 years old, created in 2017. Conveniences are still being developed and added. At this point, you are not yet able to choose a once-a-week list of all the articles that go live during the week.
If you’re not a guest, I recommend joining just long enough to see the “Welcome” message for new guests. Then unsubscribe.
For the complete experience, stay awhile as a guest in my living room.
Your Feedback is Welcome
Please contact me with your feedback. Don’t hold anything back. Give it to me straight: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Use the Comments section under each article, or contact me directly. Feedback and encouragement helps me decide how to proceed. It helps me choose which articles to write next.
Disinformation in the Age of Aquarius
Why did George Orwell write and publish 1984? Why did Hitler insist on gun registration and gun control? Why do police states all over the world insist on hiring government informants and secret police, and on employing internet suppression, facial recognition, information control, and similar methods of restricting the voices of their people?
For the same reason that no one will ever gain legitimate access to your personal information here.
🎶 This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius ... 🎶
Remember the ‘60s era song? We have been leaving the Age of Taurus and entering the Age of Aquarius. You’ll get a detailed explanation of solar ages here in a future chapter of the Field Manual.
Aquarius is the astrological sign which governs the modern marvels of communication technology that we are experiencing, including this forum. The internet is an Aquarian construct.
Aquarius is called “the Water-Bearer” because of the symbol associated with it, a person holding what appears to be water waves. However, that interpretation is mistaken. Aquarius is an air sign. The figure is not holding waves of water: the Aquarian is holding waveforms. Sine waves. Frequency waves. Digital technology. Radio, TV, radar, laser, microwave, ultrasound, infrared, cell and data, computers. Every electronic device and black box employing whatever slice of the complete range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
When a radio broadcast is live, they are “on the air.”
Technology itself is neutral: it only matters how it is used. Beneficial use encourages freedom of expression and growth of the human spirit. Misuse allows certain people to enrich themselves at our expense, to exploit the rest of us. Misuse of technology also allows those bad actors to persecute people in order to protect their position of power and greed.
I freely admit that Aquarian technology is not my strong suit. However, I see clearly the distinction between the encouragement of freedom and the suppression of freedom. I am an ardent advocate for the correct and beneficial use of Aquarian technology.
Facebook, Twitter and Google are unfortunately easily employed by bad actors to promote disinformation.
So I am not a fan.
Don’t expect them to have access to anything that shows up here.
So happy to have found you here, I’m looking forward to catching up on all the posts. This appears to be the antidote I have been searching for…
